THE REAL ROAD MAP TO WORLD PEACE
Remembrance Day or Prevention Day
Annually our extended human family around the world set aside a variety of
days, both secular and religious to Remember the culmination of events of
dramatic proportion to their populations. I pose the question, are we
just going to continually stand in Remembrance or can we finally change to a
path of Prevention?
In the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand and a
number of other countries November 11is set aside to honor the dead who fought
for our concept of freedom in a variety of wars and battles.
In France they have Bastille Day marking the end of the oppressive monarchy on
July 14, 1789 and the beginning of the republic
The list of secular events goes on and on. These lists are also extended to a
variety of religious observances, commemorating days of importance in a
variety of belief systems.
A vast majority of people would agree that racism is a plague on humanity. I
propose that "Spiritual Racism" is part of the foundation of
physical racism and negative differences between groups of people globally. I
believe this type of racism is deep rooted, down to the very core of the
majority of our major conflicts, past present and those yet unfolding.
This problem of racism of a spiritual nature affects the majority of mankind.
"Not I" you say, well read on.
Webster's dictionary defines racism as (my comments in italics)
A belief that human races (or ideological/religious groups) have distinctive
characteristics that determine their respective cultures (belief systems),
usually involving the idea that one's own race (ideology/religion) is superior
and has the right to rule others.
A policy of enforcing such asserted right (even if it is only in their mind)
This article will address the monotheistic groups around the world, primarily
Christianity (including catholic, protestant and all other variety of beliefs
based on the New Testament), Islam, Judaism, Jehovah witnesses and Mormanism.
All of the adherents to these aforementioned belief systems have two things in
common, one they are monotheistic, believe in one God, and secondly they are
all spiritual racists as defined above.
A cursory examination of these primary monotheistic belief systems leads one
to conclude they are racist right down to the core of their belief systems.
The majority of Christianity states that if you don't believe in Jesus Christ
you can't attain to the kingdom.
Islam's statement of faith is "Only Allah is God and Mohammed is his
prophet".
Judaism, Jehovah Witnesses, Mormons and a variety of other groups have similar
exclusive criteria for involvement in their view of God. What the
majority are saying is unless you do it their way you have no part in the God
equation. This is blatant spiritual racism.
For the majority of believers in these groups, this racism is a passive
process or belief. It is racism all the same. The extreme end of these
spiritually racist belief systems produces the likes of Islamic
fundamentalists, Osama Bin laden who praised Allah for the holy act of
attacking the USA on 911. Then there has been and is Jihad (holy war)
declared by a variety of Islamic countries against Israel. There are
also a variety of activists for the fundamentals of Islam causing havoc in
other locals around the world. On the extreme end of Christianity we
have the Wako's, Jimmy Jones's, KKK and a myriad of activist groups attempting
to force their belief system on others, like the fight of the "Moral
Majority or the Moral Right" for prayers in schools, pro-life activists
and the list goes on and on. An examination of other belief systems globally
will show they all have their extreme members who are trying to impose their
beliefs on others as well.
Even the most moderate passive believer in these afore mentioned systems, is
at the core of the problem. The primary downside of this form of racism
is they are incapable of Loving their fellow man. The type of Love that
I am talking about is an "Equality of Love". This is a love
that knows "In the Heart of each individual" that all others on the
face of this world are loved exactly the same as they are in the eyes of
"the God of their understanding".
This Equality of Love involves truly "Loving as Equals". If
you look up to someone, worship someone, idolize someone, you can't truly love
them. The same if you are condescending to, or just tolerant of someone
or their belief system, you can't truly love them. Love only truly flows
between equals. That is why to my understanding God became man in the
body of one human so he could demonstrate that equality of love for all
mankind.
As part of your journey along the road to world peace, I challenge you to make
yourself a committee of one "Preventing Spiritual Racism" in all its
manifestations on a thought by thought basis.
If the group you belong to has racist teachings as suggested above, I
recommend you try to change them, failing that, abandon that belief system.
If this article has stirred your imagination either in a positive or negative
manner, I suggest that you are either part of the problem or conversely part
of the solution to world peace.
