Good News

I woke up this morning and all I could think of was grace, 
of how You went to a cross and took into Yourself the whole human race.

To realize this really blows my mind,
but I see now You being the seed could only produce Your own kind.

All of my days I only wished it were true,
that we could all just be one and be happy in You.

Now that I know this was the plan from the start,
I can hardly contain the joy in my heart.

Oh what a day when we all gather there, I wonder who will be the first that would even dare to talk,
or we'll just stand and stare as we behold the cleft of the Rock.

It is in there that we were hid forever secure,
I now see this is the cross that You came to endure.

You didn't wait until we cried out in pain,
You sealed the deal and took all our shame.

I always thought it was up to us to choose our fate,
but You and Your Father a whole new race did create.

I now see there was only one way,
it all took place on a hill far away.

It all happened as it were in a flood,
redemption that sought us in the power of Your blood.

It is true that many still go their own way,
never realizing that it's all ok.

Not willing to give up the fight,
and just see that we've all been made right,

Oh what a Plan You came to unfold,
a sure word of prophecy from the men of old.

What good news I now can proclaim,
You took away our sin and hid all our shame.

My Redeemer and Friend what can I say?
You came to this earth and really seized the day.

Jesus, Jesus I give You my praise,
forever I'll be grateful all the rest of my days.
